I decided it was time I toted my loved ones around with me….that and my business, so I decided to get my own photo purse! It has my family on one side and some of my favorite newborn pictures I have shot on the other to show off my work. Now I can be like “Why yes I do have samples of my work” and with a little flip of my purse, here they are! It’s amazing. I really do love it. (Ohhh and it has “top grain leather trim and handles.” I feel quite fancy… especially considering that I have just never really been much of a purse-person and have been using my last purse since pretty much high school. Don’t laugh.)

We sell lots of different styles so you can choose your own photo purse, and you can tote around your family as well…or just your kids…or your dog, that would make a really cute purse!

They start at $45 for the wallets and go up to around $150 for the really large bags. Come check them out!

Figuring the perfect color combination for your family pictures can be a challenge! We usually recommend choosing 1-3 different colors to dress everyone in. Some of the most common things are browns with different shades of cream to a dark brown, all in black, all in white, and especially during this Christmas season, reds.
People have really started getting creative lately and we have seen a lot of blues with yellows as well as other colorful combination. We recently had our own family portrait taken in purple green and blue! (Pictures to come soon!)
One of my favorite pictures from this past fall is this one.
I love the color and style of clothes they chose for their picture. It’s classy and fun at the same time! Their colors look perfect with the fall colors, and honestly they chose one of the most beautiful days of the year for pictures. Fall is stunning! It’s interesting to see the greens golds and browns from their clothes echoed in the leaves. Amazing!
Here are a few more favorites from their sitting.

We have waited a long time to try this fun look, its just been so hard to find the right little hammock/hanging cocoon. Finally we decided we would just learn to crochet ourselves. So far I can make a lopsided square that could possibly be used as a pot holder, Elaine, however has been extremely successful. It’s been like 3 weeks and she’s a professional crocheter. It’s not fair, except for the fact that now I get these awesome photography props. Wahoo!

There has been some serious Maternity Madness going on here at Barrus. Look at all their lovely ladies and their bellies. I know that now everyone gets Maternity pictures but I am not going to lie…I recommend it. It is just so much fun! I love documenting this exciting time in peoples lives. Pregnant women just GLOW. It is also sooo much fun when older sibling come along and daddies too.
I love it because in this picture I told the dad (who happens to be my brother) to “whisper sweet nothing into her ear.” Apparently I found out that the sweet nothings he whispered were “this is ridiculous” (or something to that extent.) Yeah, it might take some ear-pulling to get your man to your maternity session, but it is totally worth it don’t you think?
